*I* am not consciously running any PPro-background-jobs, but it could be
that config-items like hotkeys might cause issues. Actually the author of
Zoot had asked me "Are you running software that monitors keystrokes (like a
text expander or something like that)?" then I thought about PPro's hotkeys
and quit it - and then Zoot worked fine. This is how I found out that PPro
is part of the problem.

But exactly what functionality in PPro could cause this?

I have assigned several hotkeys, but disabling them or even deleting them
from the config did not change anything. There are two items in the
scheduler, one for startup, one for 12:00, so I guess that can't be the
problem. Browsing through the config and advanced setup, I could not see any
items that seem to be "obviously related" to background-tasks, so atm I have
no idea where to search or what to do...
