Thanks Fabian, Extension Overload was the sort of utility I referred 
to in my post, that was useful for sorting out System 7 extensions. 
But it's of no use in trying to identify the function of the dozens 
an ddozens of mysterious ldap (library) and shim resource files 
cluttering up my current OS 9.2.2 Extensions Folder.

My question was, is there an equivalent app to help me identify 
(perhaps even sort) all these files-OTHER-than-legitimate-Extensions 
that appeared in my Extensions Folder with the advent of
OS9 ?
