I have a PowerBase and I'm running OS 9.0.4 with no problems, the HD was initialized with the Apple utility, rather than HD ToolKit. I wouldn't think there would be a big difference with the PowerCenter. I do have an Apple-branded CD-ROM now, but it works with either the Apple CD/DVD driver or CD-ROM Toolkit, which I purchased in trying to get my DOS card to work.
