Palo Verde provides the following response:

Current procedural guidance requires that if the in-progress reviews should be
used to evaluate / adjust dose estimates including electronic dosimeter
setpoints (up or down) to ensure that they remain accurate and challenging.
These modifications are required to be included in outage ALARA reports a s
lessons learned. Palo Verde is also refining this process by modifying the RWP
procedure to examine the efficacy of electronic dosimeter setpoints if current
radiological survey data differs from expected (historical conditions) and by
developing metrics to identify, track, and trend specific events to identify
areas for improvement in radiological work planning such as quantifying the
overall frequency of accumulative and rate alarms, identifying unique tasks or
work areas that are experiencing these alarms, and adjusting RWP alarm
setpoints as needed.

Subject: Powernet: RWP Setpoint Changes

Duke currently establishes RWP dose and dose rate setpoints based on historical
data for outages, with various tasks under the RWP having setpoints
commensurate with the area work is to be performed. Does anybody have a process
where they would adjust these established setpoints once the unit is off-line,
and initial surveys are completed, dependent on conditions identified?
