Jerry,

At STP we also do not use rope barricades for radiation areas unless it would
help define the area for the workers (judgment call)

Thanks Roger

Subject: Powernet: Radiation Area Postings Required to be on Rad Rope

Although High Radiation areas have to barricaded with a continuous barrier
(minimum of continuous rope with swing gate at entrance), Radiation Areas at
Robinson are often posted with signs on stanchions that are not connected by
rad rope. We might use several Radiation Area postings on stanchions, placed
around a B-25 that met the 5mR/hr at one foot criteria for being a Radiation
Area, for example, without connecting all of the postings/stanchions using rad
rope.

Question: Does your site post Radiation Areas similarly, or do you require
Radiation Area postings/stanchions to be linked together using rad rope?

Thanks for your reply:
