Granted those files are freaking huge, Canon's latest full frame digital 16.7 megapixel 35mm camera is closing the gap. I've seen side-by side comparisons if the Canon's output with a medium format scanned negative. The writer of the article said they're comparable and while I'm not sure they're *that* close, the gap is a heck of a lot closer then I'd ever guessed. Throw a 20 or 30 megapixel medium format digital back into the mix and it's game over. :-)
