Howdy, I have a good friend who bought a Dell quad core computer recently. Under load, it also failed. He tried to get Dell to do something about it and was unsuccessful. He gave up on Dell fixing it and installed a better heatsink and fan. That fixed it and it has been reliable since then. The hardest part was that Dell did not use the standard way to mount the heatsink and fan. He had some trouble finding a compatible model, but he did find one. Good luck, Ralph
