Michael, very briefly: Canon's ETTL is not easy, and hated by many (including me for a year or more) but if you can master it ( and when properly explained, it is very easy!), it is superbly accurate. The 1Ds is, to me, better than its description on paper and with the 1D which complements it, I have the best tools I could possibly want, bar none.
