Betterlight or ancient Dicomed scan backs have a separate IR filter that is no problem to exclude. Lateral users have been capturing IR images years. There are even presets for capture. I have scanned late 19th Century photographic prints with tungsten lights and tungsten light balance and with careful use of software revealed hidden detail and then restored contrast. There is no end to revelation!
