Trying to clear this in my head:

A jpg has sRGB tagged (as evident when opening in PS, "preserve embedded
profiles")
A tif file is untagged.
Opening a jpg & assigning Adobe 1998, makes the image LOOK too red.
(profiled monitor, custom white balanced).

What gives?

Also: when opening a jpg camera file across a network, it opens
untagged, although
the same file is tagged sRGB when opened on the computer on which the
file resides.

Thanks List,
Tim
