I've a couple of 128mb flash cards with the same problem. I've relegated them to file swapping between computers not on the network. I formatted both of them out of camera and suspect that's the problem My 1 gb Microdrives (don't forget JC, just over �100 each from Scan .com) only get formatted in camera, I just dare not do it on the computer.
