Er, I think you mean Epson drivers and utilities get better and better. OS X
has been out now for a while so developers haven't got the same excuse for
creating buggy software as in the early days when it was settling down.
And even if they have problems developing bug free drivers or utilities,
they should use their muscle with Apple and not inflict their shortcomings
on OS X users...don't you think?
My tupence worth: Take all the gunge off, routers, switchers, network, PCI
cards, scanners, external drives, turn off Classic, etc, so that you have a
clean Mac. Plug the printer straight into the Mac, don't have any apps or
utilities running in the background and see if you can use the Epson
utilities and print from something like TextEdit. If no problems, plug
things back one by one. If you still experience problems, use the
opportunity to tell Epson where to put the drivers...i.e. NOT on their
website. <g>
