Silly me... Yes definitely a CRT....with no pixels...

Interesting... On a different resolution, the spot moves position a bit.
When I degaus, the spot spits into three white spots and finally converge
into one. (this is a pin prick / single "pixel" sized spot)

I have mailed LaCie, and am awaiting their response...
