Check out the unix command ls (list) Open an terminal window and type the command
man ls You can (if you are farly smart) do most things with listings under ls - especially combined with vi - - but that is a fair learning curve ls > textfile.txt will redirect the listing of the command to a file called textfile.txt which you can open in word - - amongst other things you may need to do man cd first to find how to change to the directory you want to list philip Working in OS9 I could select a directory of file numbers in a window and copy it into a word processor and they would stay in number order. In OSX the numbers will not transfer in any kind of logical sequence. The same thing happens if I drag a selection of file numbers into PS, they don't stay in number order. Can I do this in OSX? =============================================================== GO TO http://www.prodig.org for ~ GUIDELINES ~ un/SUBSCRIBING ~ ITEMS for SALE
