Hi Tim (& Malcolm)

I beg to differ. I did a fair bit of testing with both before purchasing
Capture One DSLR as I discovered the output from C1 is far better.

Most specifically C1 files have more shadow detail, smoother gradations from
dark to black areas, much less chromatic noise (esp. in grey areas) and
better overall colour fidelity.

Try a side by side comparison, and particularly look at the individual
channels (red most importantly) and you'll get a clearer idea of what's
going on.

Unfortunately the algorithms that Phase One have utilised for upsizing files
are very disappointing.

The way I see it I use Capture One to get the best possible "print" from my
"digital negative" (raw file) in the same way as I used to seek out the best
printers in ye olde analogue times!

Hope this helps

Matt
