Since there aren't many other solutions offered that might
work for you, I will chime in with one of my own. I do *not*
know if this will work as I have never used it myself.
Mac OS X supports TCP/IP printing where it does not actually
need to have peer-to-peer communication with the printer.
You might try setting up the Printer on your OS X computer so
that you are using the iMac's IP address.
