One "watermark" image, a simple layer file only. A folder of other images needing the watermark applying. When I try to batch this I keep getting messages saying "can't find the previous document" or "can't find the next document.
I have tried leaving the watermark file open - no success. I have tried creating an action including opening the watermark file, still no joy.

I know I've had problems with this before. If what you are trying to place is a logo, I've had excellent results by saving the "watermark" file as an EPS and then using the "place" command in the action (don't forget to press the "enter" key to set the image). This will drop the image into the center of the open image as a second layer, which is where I typically want it. From there it's simple enough to change the opacity of that layer before flattening, and continuing with the rest of the action. If the eps file is a black logo, you can also "invert" that to make it white before setting the opacity.
Hope that helps.
