I phoned Adobe and I get a free crossgrade from the PC Photoshop to the MacOS version.

How on earth did you manage this? Is this a new policy of Adobe to make up for reduced after-sales support? Was this a one-off for you or an offer open to anyone? Did you have to return the PC package?
