...Interesting issue is the reproduction of paper texture of the original painting - - issue being that this data does not necessarily want to be included in the inkjet version (which will have its own texture and paper base color)
I somehow think that making the paper base the white point is a rather simplistic and possibly lossy way to go
Clearly there are seat of the pants solutions and its is probably no big deal one way or another to include some paper base image data
...but I wonder if anyone has looked at the issue in any depth and found any nice methods for compensating for this.
