I spent most of yesterday checking images for dust and doing other minor retouching. I can honestly say that I was removing more real seagulls than dust spots.
I am convinced that my 1ds came with some small particles of red matter. They only showed up on clear blue skies. They never showed on any other colour. Only very thorough cleaning several times removed them.
I should add that my cleaning routine which finally removed them took a long time because I went to great lengths, over about an hour, to keep my tiled office floor wet in the hope of laying any dust in the room.
Are you using the gas cylinders?
