Are you saying that Acrobat will convert the colorspace to sRGB for you as well?

Maybe you can say yes and no... You can run a basic Color Management set up in Acrobat ( useful for instance ,to tag an untagged file), but you won't get any color profile mismatch warnings when opening files, (probably suggesting an on-the-fly conversion?) , and can also set the app to No CM, in case this could work for some specific situation, but I won't trust this. See below


 I still think it's best to convert to sRGB first
before preparing in PDF.



Indeed, this is the way to go, a simple PS batch action will do this and you just make sure no major color offset would show up on screen.
