[PRODIG] Projecting digital images

I have been asked to prepare some pictures for digital projection where 
they will appear at A1 size. Am I right to assume that as long as i 
have an image which looks decent on screen at screen res etc that it 
will project properly. Obviously I want to keep file sizes as small as 
possible so if anybody can make any suggestions they would be 
gratefully received.
