Without doubt go for a laptop. See my other post!

If I had not been downloading to a laptop (on a beach) I would not have found the focus problem when I did. Although I was not in a position to fix the problem I was able to cover myself and get away with it. If I had shot on film or just used my iPod to back up I would be in trouble right now.
