Would it not just be simpler, lighter in weight and far less expensive to just carry a few extra 1 gig cards in your shirt pocket? No power supply or batteries to worry about.

However the 12" iBook is a good choice if you want to check your images back at base, or burn to CD. By the way, if you know of a source for G5 PowerBooks, I (and Apple) would love to know <g>

I use both on location but it depends on your location. If I'm up the mountains I am not going to take the laptop, it is physically stupid to do so, so I carry the FlashTrax. It is unbearably slow and only handles about two full downloads before battery failure but it is a lightweight portable solution.

I use an iBook which is neat & compact. I'm not prepared to carry � 3000.00 of G5 Powerbooks around, vulnerability, space, weight etc.
