Has anyone got experience of using the Flextouch Dust and Scratches filter
on an Imacon scanner? When we bought our 343, the guy who installed the
scanner was sceptical about the value of this filter so we didn't buy it.
I'm now informed there is an improved version available which if 'used with
sensitivity' does a good job.

We have any number of valuable negatives that have been damaged over the
years by careless labs. These can be a nightmare to clean thoroughly.
Sandwiching in oil between glass, as with our previous scanner, is no longer
an option. Is the degredation induced by the filter enough to preclude its
use? Does it do a good job on scratches which are more of a problem than
dust?

Thanks in advance for any advice.
