Matthew, I got hold of a quantity of 19" Flatrons for a client some time ago and everyone who used them were very pleased, still are actually. Even ones that had been using 21" previously. OK you don't quite get the same size glass area but being a small dot pitch 1280 x 960 is very comfortable. I cant say the same for on old 21" Other benefits are it gives you a surprising amount more desk space than the 21/22.
Re LCD vs CRT, Well its only my opinion but pound for pound the CRT wins hands down. I do though like Apple Cinema Displays. One big problem with the cheaper LCDs is that youre stuck to their native resolution, any other setting looks pretty awful. Emission wise , the experts say theres no cause for concern where as LCD produces virtually nothing. Make your own mind up on that one.
