Yes, it is Windows Explorer that I am interested in.

If I understand you correctly you are referring here to matching a print to
the screen display?  I am not concerned about matching my monitor display
with a print.  The print and my monitor display via PS CS do match using a
correct light source for viewing the prints.

Thanks Tony for that idea, I changed the PS Color Settings dialogue to use
the Microsoft ICM engine, to my amazement it made no difference to the
situation!  That is PS still continues to display the image correctly as
before when using the Adobe engine (i.e. it matches the print made from that
file on a Lambda) and the Windows Explorers display is incorrect.
