[PRODIG] printing and OS issues

I had installed the FULL 10.3 update,  and as suggested I ran the Gimp 
print un-installer. I do believe the issue was with the firewire 
connection under OSX as all seems fine now using the UBS connection and 
driver.  I still seem unable to control the dpi output settings and 
high speed printing option as I could under OS 9( through Photoshop 
Print with preview), but that seems insignificant for now. Many thanks
