Not really... Micro$oft has announced interest in Python.

Sure - they've recently released IronPython 1.0, which is a version of Python that will run in the CLR. If you code using that version, then yes, you may be subject to the whims of Redmond Marketing.

But the point is that nobody can buy Python and control it. You simply cannot have a situation like what happened with Fox, where Microsoft bought Fox Software, took what it could use from it, and tossed it aside.
