Like I said, just my recollection. I may be wrong ;-)

Hi all

Two questions:

Is it possible, using only "typical" setup (i.e. not "custom" setup) to make the installation of a desktop shortcut optional ?

Yes

Is it possible to let the user have the option to run/launch the application when setup completes ?

Not directly, but you could with VBscript.

IExpress is a pig once you start trying anything other than the bog-standard. Better use Inno.

I thought Inno would be suggested - I'll take a look when I am not so busy.
Actually you _can_ give the option to run the app - it's under Customize the setup appearance - Dialogs - Setup complete success - Show launch program

However you say "Yes" I can make the Desktop shortcut optional - neither ave nor I can see how to do this with Installshield Express. Any chance that you could enlighten us <g> ?

Cheers
