I turn that stuff off. I may make mistakes, but at least they are my mistakes. Correcting arbitrary mistakes is more difficult.
When I was on my computing diploma, I would set up Word on a lab workstation to the way that I like it and had to do so each time since a reboot restored the image. One time, I was in a hurry to apply for a co-op job. I had my resume up in Word. I saw a flicker on the screen. I looked, and Word had miscorrected my E-mail address. If I had been looking away at that moment, I would not have known.
