Followup: I ended up purchasing it new from Amazon, as I missed the neweff sale. The machine arrived yesterday, and I spent the evening patching and having it fix a "corrupt disk" -- there's a worry, eh? But forty-bazillion Windows patches later, it seems pretty solid. Windows 8.1, Atom, the VFP app was designed for 1024 x 768 so it actually fits pretty well in the new app. As it's not heavily CPU-bound, nor large-data-I/O-bound, so the app is acceptable. Input is a little challenging: it's got a wee-bitty keyboard, so large hands would be challenged, Trackpad seems okay, with right- and left-clickable areas. A complex UI with lots of closely-space elements might be a challenge. There's a touch screen, though I thought the data entry screen was too closely-spaced to make this work. Looking forward to hearing how it works out for the client. -- Ted Roche Ted Roche & Associates, LLC http://www.tedroche.com _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: ProFox@leafe.com Subscription Maintenance: http://mail.leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://mail.leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/CACW6n4tNFtXUdj++qdYaNpPg3LRPiz8H674CWwjge85=4zb...@mail.gmail.com ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
