Ah. There are other free (more) free databases as well. PostgreSQL, Firebird, SQLLite, Berkeley DB, and others. Hey, the Foxpro database is free but it's not a server itself.
Choices are good. I'm still guessing that a lot of the savings in the article come from the M$ Server licenses, and in switching to Linux or UNIX servers.
