Pete,
Thank you Paul, I did leave an important "w" out of the word two.

You just confirm my points about bad parenting! The problem shouldn't be
discovered as an after event. It is far more difficult to solve now that the
inane activities of the youngsters is somewhat engrained in society. along
with the current culture for drinking until you literally collapse in a
heap.

We need to get back to not letting the problem occur in the first place.
Hold the parents completely responsible for the children's actions outside
the home would be a first start and maybe bring back some form of instant
corporal punishment which will be quick to administer instead of choking up
the courts with legal cases which are heard months and months after the
event.

In my early childhood, the local policeman would crack you around the ear if
he found you up to no good and then he would march you back home where your
father would probably do the same. Simple easy punishment.

Not now though, we instantly turn to the rich kids in the legal profession
if a teacher or policeman lays a finger on anyone. Stupidity, to say the
least. Let the good guys stand up for once and use common sense. That
doesn't mean child beating or stoning (I wish sometimes!) but a bit of
common sense backed up with political will and rights for the victim as
opposed to the offender. Justice needs to be seen to be done.

Once, and if, the "silent majority" start to mobilize themselves to this
effect the changes will be dramatic. Just as over here, when Drink Driving
was the norm and not considered a real crime back in the mid 70's it is now
deemed to be socially unacceptable because the politicians listened to the
victims of drink drive crime for a change as opposed to the human rights
crew demanding the right to get p*ssed and kill someone. The same thing
COULD happen regarding youth violence, drug taking, scrounging off the state
etc etc.

Maybe making voting compulsory would help, as long as you could vote for
"nobody". If the "Nobodies" won, then maybe the politicians might start to
listen for a change.

I do know however, that as a British patriot through and through, I don't
want to live here if the current trends continue as they have over the last
few years. I live in hope though that wheel will turn full circle as it
inevitable does and somebody in government will realize what a shambles we
have made of society in the last half century and bring back some good 'ole
British values of fairness, tolerance and helpfulness to our culture.

God knows we could do with them in addition to less crap TV from your side
of the pond which always seems to cater to the lowest common denominator e.g
Mr Springer et al.

The only saving grace in adopting some of the lifestyles from your side of
the pond is that Fat B*stards can't run very fast to escape being caught
when commiting crime.
