That client was pretty abusive with his mouth, but he paid his invoices and I was happy with the work. I thought it balanced out, but obviously it did not balance as well as I thought. I had tried very hard to keep from getting upset, and I actually worked off site most of the time. I spent four years there. Frankly, that was the only project I ever worked on where I had a complaint about my temper, and I think it had a lot to do with the interaction between a group of people that got reamed on a regular basis by the owner. Regardless, I did take what he said to heart and I have been extremely careful in my client dealings from then on.
