> > Any ideas on other machines? Looking at : Just one thought from left field... I have found (the hard way) that thermal printouts are problematic in some cases. If someone leaves thermal printed labels/media (receipts from stores, for instance) in a hot car (worse with direct exposure to the sun) for too long (less than one hour in LA a few summers ago for me), the entire thermal paper media will turn black, and the original printed info is obscured permanently. Other than that I see the attraction to thermal printing as there is no ink, toner, ribbon, etc., that needs to be changed. Just beware the Bright Side with the sunlight or other sources of heat... It is possible the media used in the printers you are looking at are less temperamental than the CompUSA receipt I "used to have" <g>.
I have used Zebra printers for clients in the past. Very nice units.
