Hi Kurt, Thanks for your feedback about the Dragon Video. And, yes, the Dragon project has been overwhelming. When I began - I never thought I would be 2 months - and its still not completed. Even on weekends - family responsibilities take away from my time to work on the Dragon. Much less my day job - if only I didn't have to bother with it - I could get the Dragon finished and be doing many MORE Cool projects. But, then again - I couldn't afford to do the projects if I didn't have my stinky day job.
But, I hope to try and rectify that situation as soon as I can... -------------------------------- You're into a really hot area with 3D printing, and you've got the presentation skills. I think with continued effort like that you'll do just fine. --------------------------------------- Yes - in regards to the Video - I did attempt to do it in an almost documentary style. I wanted to give people insights into not only How I created the Dragon - but also Why I did it. And - nope - never planned this to be any kind of a programming tutorial. But, I wanted to show how I used multiple different tools & 3D SW to get the project completed. As for Selling aspects. I mentioned in the end of the Video that I may sell this Dragon on EBay. But, that's still up for Debate. Mostly, I wanted to educate people about the process of creating the Dragon - as well as the usage of rapid prototyping. I'm also hoping to create a little stir around this project - because it has been such a BIG project. If I got thousands of people around the Net to see the Video - it may create interest for the selling of the Dragon - should I eventually end up doing that. ----------------- I'm thinking you're on the right track to getting $ backing, if that's what you're looking for. The dragon is at the very least a useful demo for what can be done It seems there are myriad possibilities for this technology. Just looking around ... e.g. I'd like for the Chinese family that runs the local laundry to be able to print buttons that are missing from my shirts. Okay, not the greatest idea, but looking at the world with this concept in mind is ... interesting! Good for you! --------------- I've definitely been considering people's feedback here - like your's, Nick's and Stephen's. I've been contemplating making 2 versions of the video. Maybe making the current one a little longer - to add back in some of the stuff I edited out. But, the Other version of the Video would be a really short one - less talking, many more short clips - mostly background music with Text in between. And, then Text at the end - that will refer people to the Full version of the Video! ----------------- Personally, I think people either have the talent to get in front of a camera or they don't. I'm sold on the need and usefulness of videos, but I don't have that talent (to my great regret!). But it looks like you do. That's really good. BTW, I assume you know that PowerPoint is your friend. Great tool for developing presentation outlines and can even be a teleprompter.
