Gord. I had forgotten about the Avid solution. This sounds like a possible 
plan. I wonder how well that stuff works with voice over. I guess it would not 
be very hard to find out. Easy enough to get a mac talking anywhere for a demo.
How ever, i'd also be interested in your thoughts on the pre sonus. I'm pretty 
sure you said you use one. I know a lot of people on here, and also midi mag 
use one. How do you find the mic press. I will not rule this unit out if the 
access is there and it sounds good.

I also bought an octo pree myself recently and i am very happy with the sound i 
get out of it. If the pree sonus was of similar quality, I'd possibly go with 
that. If it is also compatible with mack. 

You bought back some memories talking about the old a dat machines. I did not 
run a dats, but i had 3 taskam d a machines locked up together running through 
an analogue mackie desk. Those were the good old analogue days. 
Not sure that i could go all the way back there now. How did we live without 
automation. But we did, and produced great music at the same time.
