Hi, I was searching on line and found several sites selling the digi 003. Depending on what country you live they are not that bad plus they have the moving faders which I can't really see how I could live with out them. Yes you can do edits with out them but I find them very useful. Nick Gawronski

Hey, if you are going that high=end you might want to look at one of the Avid surface/interfaces. I know the digi 003 is discontinued but they must have something new like that and it would be totally integrated with Pro Tools. In any case, you'll need to get some a/d converters. I have the Presonus 8 channel one and the focusright octa-pre with the optional a/d module, and even a little behringer 8 channel converter whicch is OK for feeding in the output of hardware synths or drum machines although you may need to feed a clock signal into it to keep it from popping and crackling, but it's only $150 or so. I've even heard of guys using their old adat machines just for a/d though you would only get 16-bit resolution from them. I still have one around believe it or not, at one time I had three of those suckers chasing each other to lock up, and controled them with MMC from the old cakewalk professional.

Hi Guys. I am upgrading my studio set up, and looking for a good sound card to run pro tools on mhy mack. Just wondering what some of you are running. I am very interested in the motu 896 mark 3 hybrid. Seems to have all the I o I need, and the preamps look good. I spoke to gorden kent about this card, and he gave me the upside and downside of the interface. But he has not used it on mack.
I wonder how accessable it is on the mack with voice over.
I have also thought about some of the r m e cards, U F X and UCX.
also universal audio apollo. I know the pluggins are accessable with uad, but not sure about the asio panel. I've also thought about the pre sonus cards. although I don't think there specks are as good as far as the pree amps go. I am looking for as much I o as possible. e.g. 8 ins and outs. 8 mic line prees if possible, but not necessary, and a dat, and midi. There are Lots of great interfaces to choos from, but I'm very confused as to just what will give me good accessabillity with voice over.
Any thoughts welcome.
Steve
