Let me explain why this selection toggle issue happens.
When someone makes edits using the mouse, they are clicking into the
waveform of a track, therefore placing an insertion point there.
Since we are not using the mouse, we rely on the keyboard to make track
selections, that's why we need the Track and edit selections options
checked.
However, sometimes when we begin working, even if we've selected a track,
the edit selection doesn't take.
Therefore, toggling it will force the edit selection to engage.
You may not have to select another track, you may just be able to toggle
the track select on and off, not totally sure about this because I'm using
control P and semi colon most of the time.
If you have a control surface, scrubbing inside the track will also create
an insertion point.
This trips us all up on occasion, so it needs to be part of our preflight
check before we begin editing.
