It seems a bit odd for you to be so surprised about this, considering Python3 is a *huge* compatibility break that broke basically every single thing ever written in Python. And I'm not sure why you're making such a big deal about this one corner of incompatibility -- PyCObject vs. PyCapsule seems like such a trivial and easy to work around issue compared to the massive pain-in-the-ass porting job for all the incompatibilities on the Python-language side of the fence.
