Just retried it, and it seems to work now.
A month ago, it definitely didn't. I tested it there myself, to no avail: http://gis.stackexchange.com/questions/54388/grass-v-clean-snap-with-polygons

Ok, Sextante seems to have changed a lot recently and i have to admit that i lost the overview. Just another question: From the GRASS toolbox with v.in.ogr there is the possibility to convert line features to boundaries while importing. This seems not to be implemented with in Sextante so far, right?

It seems that v.edit tool=chtype does that too (or is utilized through the advanced options of v.in.ogr), but it's not available through the toolbox directly nor through Sextante ...

Just my 2 and 1/2 cents,

You guys will be doing whats right, I'm sure!
Over and out
Bernd

Hi,
don't know if i understand the matter correctly, but what i extracted from Stefans initial question is, that there is no v.in.ogr accessible in Sextante, and therefore no advanced options for snapping and minimum areas to import from e.g. shape files.

Wrong: I added v.clean for this.
Please study it, I'm positive you'll find the solution to your problems.

v.clean.snap, as it was suggested by Paolo, is no alternative for that, cause snap seems not to handly polygons but only lines! ("snap: snap lines to vertex in
threshold" from grass manual).

Wrong: see grass doc, and try. In GRASS, polygon borders *are* lines.

All the best.
