Yes, changing QPC2's priority does seem to have helped, though I haven't
experimented enough to know for certain yet.

As a result of this "problem" Daniele Terdina kindly sent me a temporary
registration code for QemuLator to help me in case the QPC2 issue couldn't
be resolved. Wow, a long time since I last tried to use the QemuLator demo.
I downloaded the latest version and am impressed with it. It now writes to
QXL.WIN if you have full registration (before would only read), runs QDOS
(with or without PE) or SMSQ/E for Gold Card (Daniele said it wouldn't run
older versions but it seems to run the old v2.93 from my Aurora+Gold Card),
you have a choice of memory sizes and QL emulation speeds, can use any QDOS
ROM I tried so far, can use plug-in ROM images (luckily I still had a plug
in TK2 EPROM on my old QL so was able to make an image). I even got
Launchpad to run on it as long as PE was there of course. Look forward to a
QemuLator review in a magazine near you soon!

Thanks to everyone who offered help with the QPC2 versus Word problem, once
again proves to me how helpful our friends in the QL community can be!
