No, you are not. If you increase the resolution of your display, the relative size of the fonts will decrease. Increasing the resolution puts more info on your screen, but it has the side effect of making everything look smaller.

Now, if you are running an emulator inside a tool like DOSBOX, I know that DOSBOX can make it's window full screen, making a large DOS window. I don't believe this is possible with normal GUI windows for Windows, Linux or Mac.
