Hi All,

Great to see another new user popping up - You're very, very welcome Paul. I too
was a little daunted by the chat on the list when I first joined, some time ago
now, but soon came to realise how helpful all the subscribers are.

Many of them have been QL users from day one - back in the early 80's. Several
are active QL hardware and software developers, and a few more are QL traders -
myself included - and deal in Ql software and hardware at various Ql workshops
around the country during the year, and a few on the continent also.

The thing I like about this list is info is so accessible and people are so
ready to help on ANY level without making you feel like an idiot. Something I
feel is sadly lacking on PC circles - either you're an expert on those lists or
you shouldn't bother. Feel free to ask any question you like, about anything you
want QL, and I guarantee someone will answer quickly - usually several people
will.

As the others, I suggest you subscribe to QL Today, fulls details on dilwyns
website as previously mentioned. Also QUANTA, the QL users and tinkers a-
ssociation, is well worth joining - they have an extensive software library
with hundreds of QL programs that the librarian will send you. Costs only £14 a
year to join and you get a monthly magazine as well. see www.quanta.uni.cc

I also suggest you try and make it to a QL show - as talking face to face and
seeing the new hardware and software is often much better and more easily
understood. The next one in the UK is in the south of England in Byfleet at the
end of September.

So, Paul - feel free to ask anything whenever you like. Remember, the only
stupid question is the one you didn't ask.. :-))

Cheers,

Darren.
