Hi Dilwyn, <snip>

You can only have 32 info windows. Some of the menus in Launchpad suffer because of this, I was using narrow windows as shadows and boxes and kept running out of info windows, so gave up on most of them.
I just discovered this myself:'Easymenu_exe' complains with a 'buffer full' message. I must admit I have never used that many
info windows. But the manual says at page 127 'MAWDRAW' for spacialists only( so not for me) "with the bitmask parameter the first 32 info windows...". I thought that 'the first 32' meant there were more than 32 available.

Since Easyptr allows only the 256 colours, it might be handy to have it offer different ones rather than the stipples in high colour
modes.

Easysprite and the other bits need to be able to handle GD2 sprites
so that high colour sprites become possible.

I suppose you are referring to the sprite generator of 'Easyptr'. Why not use J. Grimbert's 'sprited'? It allows 4,8 256 and Q40 colour sprites. This sprites can be used in the menus created with 'Easymenu_exe' and the can be appended to you 'xxxx.cde' with 'Appman_obj'. Unfortunately, there are at least 2 drawbacks with these sprites:
1. 'MITEM' returns an error with them.
2. These sprites are lost each time you use 'Easymenu_exe' to alter/modify a menu, you have to reload them.

P.S.
Wouldn't it be nice if we could convince the authors of 'Easyptr' and 'Qliberator' to donate or sell (for a small price) their software to the QL-community? After all those programmes haven't been updated/debugged for many many years now.
