Dan, Have you run the /var/qmail/bin/qmail-newu command? The qmail-lspawn program reads the /var/qmail/user/cdb file and passes the owner and directory information to the qmail-local program. The cdb file is generated by qmail-newu from the /var/qmail/user/assign file.
Since other domains work on the server (is that correct?) then I assume that the commands >id -u vpopmail< and >id -g vpopmail< return a value of 89.
