I built the package on my other server that has been in service for
several months without a problem. It was installed the same way as
this new server. I just confirmed that it is also CentOS 5.5
The plot thinkens...

Was that server built with 0.96.1, or was it upgraded to 0.96.1.
I'm guessing the former, which would indicated a problem with
fuse-unionfs and COS5.5.
Honestly, I don't recall what it was built with, but since it has only
been in use a few months, I would tend to agree that it was built with
0.96.1
