Hey,
I wanted to add my two cent's as well. At first, this is not the first time
that we thought about a move to another medium than the mailing list. We talked
about a forum, we talked about stackoverflow and so on. In the end, it always
came back to "I want to have email notifications" (like Fritz said e.g.) and
thats why we never did such a move. But we added stackoverflow to the official
support channels (@see http://qooxdoo.org/community). The response there is
also minimal. So there are some users here who would prefer a real forum, but
there are other how would most likely not think of it as a good idea. In the
end, we, as core team, could not make everyone happy. And now back to my
personal opinion, I don't think its worth the effort to set up a forum and
maintain it compared to the benefit every user would have. But it's a open
project. If everyone likes to set up and maintain a forum, we would be happy to
see it. But i'm quite sure that the core team could not take care of the
questions there as we do here on the list.
The question is also if 1u1 is ready to increase openness by this possibility?
Stefan
I really don't get what it has to do with openness? Is a forum more open that a
mailing list?
Best,
Martin
