Some of us, including me, need for the interaction to kick us in the head
and say "Read me!" I very rarely read forums where it requires that I
actively go to them. My email is my one and only "always-on" means of
communication. I know I'm not alone, here, in working in this
primarily-email mode. If the new forum is obtain any input from those of us
who only use email, postings to the forum should be mirrored on the mailing
list. I suspect the opposite should be true as well, for those who prefer
the forum environment. (I'm not sure, however, where messages arriving from
the mailing list at the forum should be posted. There won't be any
particular topic to which the messages should be attached.)
